Semester 1
In this unit of work students have the opportunity to design, produce and evaluate a design for a plastic toy of their choice. Students develop a client brief for a toy manufacturer who requires a concept presentation and 3D prototype model of the toy. Students use the design process to solve the design solution and demonstrate skills in using 3D modelling software to create the design concept for the client.
Semester 2
In this unit of work students have the opportunity to design, produce and promote a product. Students develop a client brief for a business that requires their product to be advertised. Students use the design process to solve the design solution and demonstrate skills in using appropriate drawing skills and graphic design software to create the design concept for the client. Students will learn the different advertising techniques the media uses to influence the audience.
